“The child is created, the future grows”
The childcare in our crèches and day care centres is based on our desire to offer each child the opportunity of an education in which he/she is the central and driving force. We recognise the right to speak, to make mistakes, to be unique, to express choices, preferences and needs that are unique and particular. Our childcare is oriented towards the consideration of the child as an individual with infinite potential.
Our educators are learning initiators. Our facilities are invitations to explore. The materials and activities offered are designed as tools to foster the development of child as an adult in the making.
Our childcare is based on positive and fulfilling relationships. We integrate families into our educational process.
We assume our responsibility as a childcare facility by accompanying the child in its task of growing up and in its future, which is created from an early age. We prepare children for their first day of school and support their success at school.
From a very early age, we encourage the child to focus on its first learning experiences with a great deal of freedom of exploration and movement, under the watchful eye of our educators. With confidence, the child can gradually expand its space of discovery.
The child is stimulated in the discovery of its environment in structures specifically designed for this purpose. Respecting our principles of positive education and respect for the child, the educator accompanies the child in its discoveries and reassures the child of its potential. With this encouragement, the child initiates its discovery of the world and builds itself as an actor of the present and the future.
Exploration begins in contact with nature. All our establishments have a garden or an outdoor area. Encouraged in the freedom of movement, in the investment of large spaces, to the rhythm of dreams and marvellous stories, the child is invited to experience wonderful games, treasure hunts and other great experiences around varied themes.
The first day of school, a key stage in the life of each child, marks the beginning of his or her adventure in our day care centres, which cater for children aged 4 to 12.
Imagination, creativity, encounters and sharing are the pillars of life in our childcare facilities, on which our children build their identity. Respecting the development of each child, our educators accompany them in the forming of positive social, friendly and emotional relationships.
Rockids values the skills of each child and gives them a role as a co-constructor of education. Learning in freedom, at the rhythm of their interests and aspirations, they are integrated into the learning and discovery experienced by the youngest. The child is invited to share their identity, sensitivity, emotions and words. Under the watchful gaze of the educator, the child gives something of themself to other children.
All of our day care centres apply the principles of positive pedagogy and caring.
We have designed our Montessori by Rockids crèches in accordance with the educational principles developed by Maria Montessori in the 20th century.
In a revolutionary move for her time, Maria Montessori, one of Italy’s first female doctors, developed the concept of the “absorbing mind of the child”.
Based on the child’s passage through different sensitive periods of development (0-6 years), Maria Montessori seizes the opportunities and the child’s particular interest in a subject at a particular time of development. The child then learns without difficulty and develops self-confidence, concentration and attention. The Montessori pedagogy invites children to use the material offered independently. The child can thus repeat what they have learned and correct its mistakes itself, under the watchful eye of an educator.
The Montessori pedagogy respects the development and learning rhythm of the child by proposing activities that respond to its need for autonomy and self-confidence.
The child’s sensitive periods of life are:
Every child has a vital need to grow, learn and “discover the world”. Activities are presented in a non-judgmental and non-competitive atmosphere, in accordance with the child’s rhythm and interests. Activities are offered individually or in a group setting in order to benefit from the emulation of the group.
The child is invited to choose within a frame of reference, where they learn the rules that govern their environment as well as respect for others.
If a young child has everything to develop in the first few years of life, it is important to provide a suitable environment where they feel physically and emotionally secure. Our Montessori by Rockids crèches are designed with this in mind.
The human being is above all a social being and the relationships established between the child and the educator are decisive. Our educational teams are continuously trained with the support of an internal Montessori and multidisciplinary trainer, who ensures good practices and accompanies the teams on a daily basis.
Our Montessori by Rockids crèches in Leudelange and Dudelange 3 apply the Montessori pedagogy.
