Rockids family meetings to get involved in the life of the crèche

Our partnership with parents

Our Rockids crèches and day care centres allow parents to reconcile family and professional life by offering flexible care (full or part-time) over a 12-hour period, from Monday to Friday, all year round, excluding public holidays.

We adapt our day care services to the specificities of the school year with adapted opening hours during the school holidays. A shuttle service between the schools and the home is offered during the school year, as well as a homework assistance service if the parents wish.

Diversity and inclusion

Rockids crèches are representative of Luxembourg society. Children and families are welcomed with their own characteristics, be it in terms of values, ethnic origin, religion, language or other.

We welcome all children, even those with disabilities, and are committed to supporting parents in their daily role as parents. As experts in childhood, we provide guidance and advice on learning and development of the child to enable them to grow up in the best possible way.

We value multiculturalism, the diversity of families and integrate it into our daily life. Our aim is to enrich our childcare project through themed menus, reading in the parents’ mother tongue, or activities such as the celebration of traditional Luxembourgish holidays or customs from around the world.

Rockids relations with families

In our Rockids educational approach, it is very important for us to create a bond not only with the children in our care, but also with their parents and families.

The arrival and departure of children in the crèche or day care centre is an important moment. It is a time to make the link between the child’s family life and the time spent at home, and their life in the community within the care centre.

Parent events

In addition to this daily exchange with our education teams, we regularly organise events and meetings within our establishments.  We invite families to share a little of the life of their child’s crèche or day care centre, to have a longer discussion with early childhood professionals and to meet other parents.

Psychomotricity activities

In some of our nurseries, we regularly offer a child / parent / professional meeting in a room that is entirely private and equipped with psychomotricity routines and materials.

You discover your child in a context of free motor skills in complete safety, specifically designed for children. They can move around in an unrestricted, attractive and motivating space to develop their motor skills and experiment with movement.

Specialists such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and paediatricians are also invited to enable parents to discuss, question and compare their working methods with regard to their child’s motor skills and psychomotor development.

Parents’ café

Once a month, the families of children in our centres are invited to a “parents’ café”. The aim of this family-educator meeting is to encourage exchanges between parents and our early childhood specialists.

These moments of exchange encourage the development of relationships and contribute to the development of the children by accompanying the families in getting to better understand their child. They also contribute to the integration of families. The freedom of the exchanges and their spontaneity open up a dialogue and an enriching relationship between the parents and our teams of educators.

Cocktails and exhibitions

Once a quarter, parents are invited to an exhibition of their children’s work, photos, crafts and other projects carried out by the living units.

Children are in the spotlight! The cocktails and exhibitions offer a privileged framework to share and value the daily life of the children in childcare at Rockids.

Parents’ workshops

We offer parents the opportunity to lead a workshop of their choice during the year, according to their wishes or skills. The parent workshop can be based on the discovery of a musical instrument, the reading of an animated rhyme or a book, a cooking workshop, etc. The workshops are part of our multilingual education project. They allow each family to intervene in their mother tongue, to transmit their culture and to integrate into the life of the crèche or day care centre.

Rockids aims to bring our children into contact with the world of work by initiating the discovery of different professions. Crafts, agriculture, industry, media, arts, politics, services, medicine, etc. There are just so many sectors and jobs to discover. Our aim is to offer a range of encounters and experiences with different professionals in order to promote their profession and their importance in the tapestry of society, without distinction of value or prejudice.

By opening the doors of their professions to our children, thanks to the parents’ workshops, families can also play a role in the Rockids story. Education becomes a pleasure shared by parents and education teams.

Parents’ community

Each crèche and day care centre has its own private Facebook page, which complements the Rockids Facebook page. Request to join the closed group of your child’s day care centre and see photos of their activities and daily life every week.
